Kelly E. Hill, author

I have an MFA in fiction and a PhD in Humanities. My historical fiction novel A Home for Friendless Women came out in 2024 and my linked short story collection Just don't ask us what we do all day will be out in April 2027. I love visiting art museums, reading books with strong female characters, and I firmly believe fruit has no place in dessert.

Reviews of A Home for Friendless Women

“Hill is deliciously unsentimental and humanist in her rendering of these women and their world, resulting in a historical novel that feels both accurate and strikingly modern. A delight from start to finish.”
—Rufi Thorpe, author of The Knockout Queen, a PEN/Faulkner finalist
